Your Bed and Breakfast – Part 4

Hey it’s Yvonne here again and this is the final part in this 4 part video series on how to start, run and grow a successful B&B business anywhere in the world, based on my 17 years experience in my own B&B and coaching and mentoring new and established owners worldwide during the past 7+ years.

So far we’ve looked at

Strategy, where you decide what guests to welcome and why, then setting up your online presence with consistent branding and messaging across the internet

Structure, where you deliver on your online promise in a way that makes you and your guests feel wonderful

Systems, where you implement 3 crucial business systems that makes everything work automatically like a well-oiled machine, freeing up your time

So finally in part 4 today, we’re talking about Scale

Scale is where you get to add more revenue streams to your business, so you’re not 100% reliant on one or two night stays, or even 100% reliant on guests at all!

Yes it’s possible, and here’s what you need to know

You cannot scale your business until you’ve worked on your Strategy, Structure and Systems, because these 3 key elements are what makes the 4th element, Scale possible.

Once you’ve got your business running smoothly and reliably for you, and you’ve moved beyond the feast/famine, slow season cashflow crises or wondering where your next guest is coming from, then you can begin to relax and start creating

What you create will depend solely on you, your guests and what other passions you have.

Here’s some examples

When Mary started creating spa and wedding packages, she grew her business by over 37% during the covid pandemic, where others in her area were closing down

When June created her “Cooking with June” Facebook livestreams, she sold 200 of her accompanying cookbook, in one month

Most owners, new and established, think they’re in the B&B business, but in fact they’re in the sales and marketing business and the goal is get your “machine” running so you can add anything you want to it, that makes it fun and enjoyable for your guests, and profitable for you.
