One of the big challenges that I hear over and over, is:
“I’ve been doing this business for some time now and it should be making me some money, but it isn’t and I don’t know what to do”
If this is you, then I have a couple of tips for you today
First, recognise that your business is making you money you’re just not taking anything for yourself, so that at the end of the month, there’s nothing for you and it feels like you’re working for nothing.
You could be ploughing everything back into your business to make it grow, and it’s not working because the energy of the business is YOU. If you’re not re-fueling yourself every month, then you will run out of energy and the business will decline.
My tip is to start paying yourself.
Set aside an amount that you’re going to take every month for yourself. The amount doesn’t matter, it’s the habit that counts so just start small and set your intention to increase it little by little, every 3 months.
If you don’t do this, then you are basically telling yourself (and the Universe) that you don’t deserve to make any money, and therefore it will always be this way.
Next, if your business really isn’t making enough money to support itself and you, here’s my next tip
Raise your prices.
This is the easiest way to make more money instantly.
If you have some resistance to raising your prices, then we need to look deeper.
Do you have a belief that guests won’t pay anymore?
Do you feel guilty charging more?
Do you feel you don’t deserve it?
Are you unsure of your value in the market place?
Are you looking at the “competition” to see what they’re doing?
Are you constantly adjusting your prices just to attract guests?
If you said yes to any of the above, then I have some good news for you.
All of that is in your control.
It starts with a decision that you are worth it, that you are valuable, that what you offer has value regardless of what the others are doing.
It takes a bit of courage, but when you silently raise your prices, you will experience a kind of WOW moment, when you realise that guests will actually pay more, and that the only thing holding you back was your own beliefs around this.
